Discouraged?

Everyone has felt discouraged in their life countless of times, I really doubt their is anyone out there who can claim to have never experienced discouragement. Though it is during great trials and tribulations when it actually slaps us in the face.

For instance, we have all been told at least once that our personal dreams are impossible. We have all been told that we are not good enough, we are not smart, strong, skinny, pretty, handsome, or talented enough, the list goes on.

We have all been fed a bitter dish of discouragement which we reluctantly swallowed.

I am sad to admit that no matter where you go, discouragement lurks around the corner.

But never fear!

Luckily, their is a way to fight it off and it is with the word (the bible)! In the word it clearly says "If GOD is for me, then who can go against me?"(Romans 8:31)

Psalm 27:1-3
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.
3 Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.

Doesn't it make you feel joyous and confident to know that God will always be by your side as long as you have faith in him? Remember, "He never promised you that your days would be problem free, but he did promise to always take care of you" (Yolanda Adams)

I am extremely content to know that God the father is on my side and that he will never leave me stranded.

Rights!

"I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free (Lee Greenwood)," I am a patriot to the core. The United Sates of America is a utopia in comparison to other countries.

Don't get me wrong, I love all people but I'm not too keen about some political leaders. Instead of passing laws to aid their citizens, Certain leaders make decisions based on personal beliefs such as the King of Saudi Arabia. Just recently the king passed a law which forbids non-Muslims to practise their faith. If any other religion is openly practised in the country by any citizens, they will be arrested and thrown into jail. (Talk about radical)

Americans should be grateful and ecstatic at the amount of leisure "we" as citizens have been blessed with. Yet, I am ashamed to admit that some Americans take for granted the rights and freedom they have as citizens of the United States.

For Instance, the "United States Bill Of Rights allows Americans the freedom of speech, press, religion and petition.
It will be very unlikely for the government to forbid Americans the right to religion and for that, I thank God that I am able to be a Christian freely where ever I go.

As a patriotic song says "I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free. (Lee Greenwood)

Christian Music

If you are interested in listening to some great Christian music I have some delicious songs for you to enjoy. Some great Christian artist at the moment have really moved the hearts of many and actually helped them feel alive in the word. Music as you know can be a form of therapy to some and Christian music is a great form of inspirational therapy.

If you are feeling gloomy I recommend some Yolanda Adams

and a little bit of Donnie McClurkin (http://youtube.com/watch?v=sYa5MY3MRXc). Their words are very inspirational, whenever I feel stressed or just down in the gutter sad, their music reminds that their is light at the end of the sucky tunnel I'm in.

If you need a happy boost in your daily life, I recommend Chris Rice, he sings romantic and inspirational music that makes you smile and giggle especially in the song "When did you Fall."

Another great Christian group is Hillsong, each of their songs allows me to praise and worship sincerely, the lyrics really speaks to your soul.

Introducing Jesus Christ Part 2

Introducing Jesus Christ
If you had the chance to introduce Jesus to the world, how would you do it?Would you scream and shout in excitement? Would you become choked up because you are introducing the one and only Son of GOD? Would your eyes water as you describe the love and grace Jesus has openly offered to the entire world? I personally would do all those things and more!

Will I dance for you, Jesus? Or in awe of you, be still? Will I stand in your presence, or to my knees will I fall? Will I sing 'Hallelujah!'? Will I be able to speak at all?I can only imagine! Yeah! I can only imagine! (Mercy Me)

Jesus died for our sins and paid our debt with his life.

Did you know that due through Adam and Eve sin entered the world?
And because sin demands a payment and Jesus gave his life as that payment.

John 3:16-21 says 16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, [f] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.[g] 19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
Now because of Jesus died for our sins, if a person decides to accept Jesus as their lord and savior, he will be forgiven of all his sins and saved.

I’ve heard many people say “if he was so powerful why didn’t he stop the crucifixion?”
Please know that our god is a God of order. (1Cor. 14:20)

Like laws in the government there are laws involving death. Jesus had to follow the laws. Yes, he could have stopped everything but then he would be going against the law causing him to be lawless.

A Sweet Thing Called Love

Well, have you ever wondered how God defines Love? Is Love annoyingly sweet and nice like Hollywood portrays it? Or is Love something you could literally die for like Romeo and Juliet?
The topic at church last week (3-2-2008) was, "What’s love got to do with it?" We all know that God wants everyone to love and be love but where do you find it and how do you know its the real thing?
During the church service the group question for the day was, "What is love and how do you know when you are in love?"
Truthfully I don't really know about Love but I have an idea like everyone else. Love to me is a gorgeous, kind, wonderful gift from God. Love is not only for relationships but for human beings in general, and we are free to love who we please.

In service a couple of comments which really interested me and was branded in my memory were:

  • I shouldn't look for the right one; I should be the right one.
  • I should focus on my relationship with God before I have a relationship with someone else.
  • Looking for the right person might cause me to be someone I am not.
  • I should create my spiritual checklist before I date.
  • I cannot be the right type of person until I understand my love for God.

So if you're in the market for love don't rush it and remember to involve God, because who better than the almighty can help you make the right choice.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails (I Corinthians 13:4-8)

Extra Stuff

The 2008 Valentines is already a memory in our minds but interestingly enough White Day is only 10 days away.

You must be wondering "what is White Day" and I must be honest, I too was wondering the same question when I heard the term.
It turns out that White Day is the counterpart of Valentines Day and sadly it is only celebrated in Asia. "On White Day, men who received a chocolate on Valentine's Day are expected to return the favor by giving gifts, usually more expensive." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Day

Wouldn't it be fun to have White Day in the U.S.? Who knows, one day we might, anythings possible right?

A Reply From God

The lord doesn’t hate or despise the helpless in all of their troubles! When I cried out, he listened and did not turn away. (Psalm 22:24)

I asked God to teach me and this is how he replied...

I prayed for comfort and peace in my time of tears and pain and he said, “Pile your troubles on my shoulders I will carry your load and help you out” (psalm 55:22).

I prayed for guidance in a world that seems so bleak and he replied, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” ( Psalm 32:8)

I prayed for forgiveness and he told me of the “joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight. Yes, what joy for those whose sin is no longer counted against them by the lord.” (Romans 4:7-8)

I prayed for hope and the voice of God spoke to me, “May I fill you with all joy and peace in your faith, that by the power of the Holy Spirit, your whole life and outlook may be radiant with hope.
(Romans 15:13)

I prayed on my knees for courage and the spirit said “ The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.”
(Psalms 28:7)

I prayed for patience so that I may wait on the Lord and I heard “Wait on the Lord be of good courage and he shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say on the Lord! (Psalm 27:14)

I learned more each day that “it is what we trust in but don’t yet see that keeps us going.”
(2Corinthians 5:7)

I cried out to the Lord to teach me how to Love and he said “You are learning as we speak.”

Christianity on the Web

Anything you can think of can be found on the Internet. If you need to do research, read a book, listen to music or just explore, it is all possible with the Internet. Jesus Freaks have really advanced due to the web and its large community.
If you want to read your bible you may do so at http://www.biblegateway.com/. This site offers the entire bible as well as its many simplified versions, the New International and the Living Translation. Also, if you prefer not to read you may listen to the passages with available ommentary.

If you do not favor MySpace, their is a MyCurch, (http://www.mychurch.org/). MyChurch is not as popular as Myspace but it fits its purpose, connecting Christians around the world with each other. Personally, I'm not a member of either one, but I'm sure they're fun.

Like YouTube, guess what? Their is GodTube (http://www.godtube.com/). This site was created for everyone, not just Christians but the videos are christian oriented. Like YouTube you need to become a member to upload you short videos.

And have you ever heard of wikipedia? A Internet excyclopedia with info on about everything even its competetor Conservapedia (http://www.conservapedia.com/Main_Page), a Christian conservative encyclopedia opposed to Wikipedia.

With technology, the Christian society has really branched out (hopefully for the best) and taken advantage of what the internet has to offer.
